The Versatile Blogger Award

I'd like to say a big thank you to SusanD1408 Crochet Addict for nominating me for the Versatile Blogger Award. I'm very touched that you thought of me and very sorry it's taken me a while to write this post.

Here are the conditions of The Versatile Blogger Award: –
Thank the person who gave you this award. – Include a link to their blog.
Next, select 15 bloggers that you follow regularly or have recently discovered.
Nominate those bloggers for the Versatile blogger-award.
Finally, tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.

I would like to nominate the following 10 bloggers (I hope no one minds that I changed the number, I wanted my nominations to mean something and to pick 15 would be hard. The 10 I've chosen are blogs that genuinely spring to mind as my favourites, however, there are many more that I read and enjoy and it would be impossible for me to choose just 5 from them).

  • Sarah from Crafts From The Cwtch - I read her blog religiously. Sarah didn't start knitting until January 2011, yet she has flown past me in her abilities, despite me learning to knit when I was a tiny 7yr old and knitting seriously from early 2006. I find her determination to learn new techniques and take on new challenges inspiring.
  • Amanda from Kitschy Coo - If you don't follow Amanda's blog, you're missing a treat! This is another blog where I never miss a post. This lady has some serious talent. Not only for sewing, but for making me chuckle uncontrollably (I can often be heard reading her posts out loud to my husband because he wants to know what I'm giggling at). I love her writing style, just as much as the clothes she designs. I've been lucky enough to own a few items made by Amanda and I can vouch for her handy work...she's also the maker of my daughters wonderful rainbow dress.
  • Judy from Cutest Little Things - I first came across this blog when there was a buzz across the web at the amazing playhouse her and her husband made for their son (seriously, if you haven't seen it, go check it out!) she was also my inspiration for my daughters Rainbow party. She threw an artist party, and originally my daughters party was going to be an artist party, but then I teamed up with a friend and did a joint party for both our daughters and I just loved the idea of a rainbow party and our ideas were very similar anyway.
  • Natalie from Misadventures in Craft - I've recently discovered Natalie, but I love reading her blog. Her projects are so lovely, much like their maker.
  • Isaida from Mami Dearest - Another blog I've only recently discovered. I love how bright and colourful a lot of her projects are and we recently helped each other through a doll struggle...she's my doll rock.
  • Evelyn from The Soaring Sheep - I've owned items from the hand of Evelyn so I have first hand experience of her amazing knitting skills.
  • Tami from Tami's Amis - Not only is she a talented lady, but she made all my new friends possible and I'm grateful to her for that.
  • Lucy from Attic24 - I just can't resist her beautiful colourful blankets and cushions!
  • Cloudberry - Another recent discovery. I fell in love with her Angry Bird (well who wouldn't?) and being a BIG fan of colour and photography, I just love her posts and projects.
  • Kathleen from A Surprise Every Time - Who can resist Amigurumi? Not me!

7 Things about me
  •  I've been creative since I can remember. My favourite subject at school was Art and I was pretty good at observational drawing. People used to give me photos of their loved ones and ask me to draw them for them. I haven't drawn since I left school in 1995.
  • On the opposite end of the spectrum, my other favourite subject at school was Biology. I have an unnatural knowledge and fascination with diseases, disorders, viruses...anything medical really. I love learning about how the body works. Yet my formal education in this subject matter goes no further than A Level. I hope to correct this soon.
  • I have 2 children. Both girls, aged 5 and almost 3. They are the loves of my life, which is ironic since I always felt very awkward and a little irritated around children before having my own. Now, I can't imagine a world without them and have a deeper appreciation of just how important they really are.
  • I'm a coffee addict. I don't drink a lot of coffee, but I can't function without one first thing in the morning and always have one on an evening. It can't be instant, it has to be filter and I have a soft spot for Starbucks.
  • I'm also a noodle addict. My Mum used to tell me I'd turn into a noodle because, had she let me, I would've eaten them for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  • It annoys my sister and Mum that I used 'Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner', instead of 'Breakfast, Dinner and Tea'. I've had 2 instances where my sister or Mum have turned up when I wasn't expecting them because I've invited them for dinner and they thought I meant lunch.
  • I'm a horror fan. Horror books, horror films, horror houses...anything scary. I love to be scared. Unfortunately, over the years I've become desensitised somewhat and now Japanese horror is the only thing that really makes my skin crawl.
