FO Friday: Deux gloves and Febru-hairy Day

Oh the joy of toasty warm fingers, it's a shame I'm such a clutz and snagged them twice the first day I wore them and then got them filthy because my car desperately needs a good clean. Oh well, they were never meant to be "for best"

Gloves are surprisingly hard to photograph, especially when the photographer is ordered to keep me out of the picture.

In un-yarn related craftiness, I'd love to show you what I did to my daughters hair this morning. Her school is having a Febru-Hairy day to raise money for Charity. Children were encouraged to do something crazy with their hair. I got the basic idea from Pinterest. I did try this method but my daughters hair is far too soft to hold it's shape and I didn't have any hairspray to hand so I made up my own version.

It's in honour of Valentine's Day next week

If anyone would like a tutorial, just shout, but I'm sure most of you can work it out from the picture.

  3. Lovely gloves, my hands are envious! And I'll admit it took me a minute to see the heart in the hair style, and then I couldn't stop smiling! I'm going to show this to my girls when they get home, I am sure they will LOVE it!

  4. The gloves look great. I know what you mean about the disappointment in getting them dirty, especially after you put all of that work in to them.

Your daughter's hair is adorable. Yes, fine straight hair is awful when making designs like that but your tweak with the piggytail holders worked great.

  8. The hairdo is great!

I know what you mean about "keep me out of the photos, please." Whenever I ask Hubba to take a picture of "only the hat," I get a full-body shot. lol.

  10. Looks like they fit perfectly; too bad they got dirty. Can you wash them back to that lovely bright blue? February and March are always very slushy and grimey around here.

  18. You got some skills! Knitting gloves and braiding straight hair? You go! My Mom used to braid my hair when I was small...it was always a painful experience for me but it always looked cute. Nice job!
