Passing on the wisdom

I've been waiting for this moment for such a long time...

**drum roll**

Today I've been teaching my eldest daughter (who is 5 years old) how to knit.

I was sceptical at first as to whether she was old enough. I thought maybe her motor skills might not be quite developed enough.... I was wrong.

She picked it up so quickly. She's a little bit cack-handed but I think for a 5 year old she's done brilliantly. I'm so excited about the prospect of us knitting together.

We started out doing the moves together, but after about 3 stitches, she was off on her own.

One very proud little girl

Apparently she's making a blanket for Pinkie (Pinkie is a teddy they have at school)

and it wouldn't be complete without video evidence right?

This video was longer but I had to cut it down to upload it. As per usual, I got out the camera way too late and could only get her knitting whilst distracted by a talking sponge.

    1. Thanks, me too. I've been dying to teach her and think I've been quite patient, waiting 5 years!

    1. Thank you. My Nanna taught me to knit when I was 7yrs old, so I was worried she might be too young, but she handled it quite well (when she wasn't trying to watch TV at the same time)

  3. That is so sweet! If I ever have a little girl I will be looking forward to the time I can teach her to knit. I'm so glad your special time turned out so well!
