It's hard to believe that this time last week I was sitting in a family pub garden, with my family, enjoying the warm sun whilst the children played.
this Wednesday, I woke up to this
We've had to cancel our plans to go to a friends for an Easter playdate, instead we're stuck indoors making rice crispy buns. I would much rather be at my friends with adult company and the children playing together nicely doing Easter crafting. Oh well :(
On a more positive note, it means that I now have time to do a WIP Wednesday post.
I cast on a new project the other night. No I haven't finished the doll yet, but she is slowly making some progress and I hope to have her ready for FO Friday. She currently looks like this
The other project I mentioned is the Little Sister's Dress although I think it's going to be a top rather than a dress for my long 2 year old. The book I'm reading is one I picked up at random from the library and I can't put it down...it is such an amazing book, I highly recommend it. I found out later that it's also a film so I now have that waiting to be watched...must finish the book first though.
A word of advice, I may... don't watch the film. The book is great, but they change the ending in the film and it ruins it slightly (although, just my opinion of course!)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe the change in the weather, it's just crazy. Rice crispy cakes are always fun though!
Oh I never have high expectations for film adaptations, so I won't be surprised at it being rubbish, but the curiosity is too much for me to bare and I have the film sat in my living room waiting to be watched.

ReplyDeletei love love love the logs on that doll. how cute.
ReplyDeleteHope you get your doll finished in time, I love her long stripy legs. Rice crispy buns look very tempting...yum
ReplyDeleteMe too. I've done an arm today and attached it. Just one arm, a head and the hair to do now. I might do another arm tonight
DeleteYay for an almost finished doll. I hope to have mine done for FO Friday too.
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree with pinkundine - the book was so good, but the movie ruined the ending by changing it.
Shall we both promise to have our dolls done by Friday, we can have a big unveiling...lol
DeleteI just finished the book. I cried like a baby. I'm so glad my eldest was in the kitchen crafting and my youngest was napping. Gonna watch the film tonight. I'll tell you what I think.
ooh, i love that doll, and I think i know a little girl who would love it too, whats the book that its in? The weather is crazy isn't it? We don't have snow down here in cornwall but we have gone from blazing sun to torrential rain and freezing wind in a couple of days!
ReplyDeleteIt's not in a book. The pattern is in a booklet all of it's own, the designers are called AK Traditions http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-passionate-knitter. It wasn't an easy booklet to get hold of (I have to warn you) although I bought it about a year ago, so it might be more widely available now.
Deletelove the doll! So cute!
ReplyDeleteThe doll is going to be adorable, can't wait to see it completed.
ReplyDeletex
me too...haha. Thanks :)
DeleteI love Jodi Picoult! It started with "My Sisters Keeper" and then I read everything by her I could get my hands on. Her books really make you think...
ReplyDeleteThe doll and the dress are really pretty.
I'm definitely going to read more of her books. I've really enjoyed this one.
DeleteLoving the doll! Looking forward to seeing her finished, does she have a name yet?
ReplyDeleteThanks. I've secretly named her, but it's too rude for a public blog.
DeleteShe's going to be Rheya's doll, Rheya isn't in the habit of naming her toys, so she might never get a name.
The doll is going to look so sweet; I want socks like that!
ReplyDeleteMy sister's keeper was the first book I read by Jodi Picoult too, I do love them.
Thanks. I'll definitely be reading more Jodi Picoult.
