Firstly I must apologise for my lack of updates. I've been slowly plodding along with the Hitchhiker scarf and I made the Dolman top last week (blog entry is here) but apart from that I've been busy with other things. I have been using my crafty hands but to aid my daughters school. I'm helping make costumes for the year 6 performance.
Yesterday we joined the towns people in watching the Olympic flame pass through our town. I found it all very exciting.
But onto my WIP. I'm about halfway through and I'm really enjoying making it. I love an easy make, something I can take with me anywhere and not have to think too much about
My youngest daughter has recently decided that she is too old for naps, unfortunately her behaviour is telling me that she is still very much in need of them, my sanity agrees. Today I took extreme measures and I set off on the school run 30 minutes early, knowing she would fall asleep on the way there. I took my knitting and had 30 minutes of very much needed quiet, knitting time

Such a pretty yarn, I'm sure when you do get to finish it you will wear it with pride.
ReplyDeleteThanks, i'd really love to have it finished by Friday, but I'm such a slow knitter that I'm not holiday my breath
DeleteI think kids don't want to nap because they might miss out on something ;) Until they reach a certain age all that's important to them is the immediate moment. They can't really help it, can they? Sounds like you have some clever coping strategies!
ReplyDeleteYour Hitchhiker looks fantastic so far! Love that yarn!
She's sort of at that age where she'll be dropping naps anyway (3yrs) and since she's starting nursery in September, I see no point in forcing her to nap when soon she won't be able to anyway (she's doing one afternoon and 2 full days)
DeleteThat is so cool that you got to see the torch!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love your hitchhiker, it's looking great! I'm glad you got your daughter to sleep so you could have some knitting time. That's always a must.
*gasp* that Hitchhiker is coming on AMAZING - I am so loving the rainbow colour. Such a happy shawl!
ReplyDeleteYay for the torch, we had it up here too, fun stuff. I love the way the car always puts wee ones to sleep, makes life so much easier. Your Hitchhiker is just gorgeous, love that yarn!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting you guys got to see the torch!!! I would so be there. Its something not everyone gets to see. Good luck with the customes, sounds like you are super busy. I love the yarn colors too.
ReplyDeleteThat is too cool you got to see the torch. If I lived in the UK I would totally watch it too. Your hitchhiker is lovely. The colors are amazing....
ReplyDeleteLovely. My hitchhiker was in Stash Addict yarn too and I think it matches the pattern brilliantly.
ReplyDeleteMy kids would flip out over the torch coming through town! They have been watching the trials for the US all the time!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors of your shawl. I really need to get my hands on Stephen West patterns!
ReplyDeleteLoving your Hitchhiker so far, it's in my queue and I'm itching to get it started. Yours has inspired me!
