FO Friday: That damn doll is done!!!

The damn doll is done! Finished, finito, terminado, fini, färdiga, päättynyt, acabado... ok enough of that...

Wanna see?

  Knitted doll

she needs some clothes, but I'll get to that soon enough

Knitted doll

Humpty seemed quite taken with her

 Just chillin'

Knitted doll

 It's been a long journey, she's peckish

Knitted doll

I'm so glad she's finished and, believe it or not, I'm looking forward to making some clothes for her.

My daughter, the one that bugged me daily for this doll, has hardly given her a second look. Someone's getting an extra portion of broccoli tomorrow >:(

  1. That doll is adorable and I love how you posed her. Yes, she will be a rock star with clothing and maybe your daughter will love her more then. I've made a few items for the kids and they've pretty much ignored them once done. I have an owl that gets posed around the house now because my son ignored him. Argh!

  5. Oh my goodness she is so cute! What a fabulous doll, really well done. Kids are nutty, mine are just the same. However if I were to make it for someone else, they would it above all else!

    1. Thanks, it is a lovely pattern, shame it's not knitted in the round to cut out all the annoying seaming.

    1. Thanks, I have to admit, as much as I hate knitting stripes, I'm glad I did now.

  11. Yay! I love her! I finished mine too, but not unveiling until next week. I have a few accessories I want done before I post.

I pray Carmen will love her, after all this work! If not, I want it back! :)

  12. So funny! But your doll is well done and so cute. I would make the clothes and keep her for yourself until your daughter is older and will appreciate her. I have a handmade doll that someone gave my daughter and she was throwing it around. I took it and put it away. It was beautifully done and now I take it out from time to time and she and I look at it and appreciate all the work that went into it.

    1. Thanks. That's a great idea. My daughter has played with her since and she is gentle with her things, unfortunately I can't say the same for my yougest daughter, but she's more into dinosaurs, animals and cars so she hasn't touched it so far, but I'll bear that in mind if I see her being treated roughly.

    1. Tbh I just wet an ordinary pencil and used that, so it's not permanent but it's easily replaced if it rubs off.

  14. Thanks. I have a dress cast on already. She has shown her a bit of interest since I wrote this post, so yeah, maybe some clothes will make her play with her more.

  15. Barely looked at her !?!?!?!?!
I'd add some cauliflower and brussel sprouts for good measure!

The doll looks adorable. Maybe the interest will be piqued when there are outfits to change in and out of?
